In Bittersweet

by Heather - Not entered

I just talked to a long lost love of mine
He said I had been "the one"
Oh, I'd been "real good by far"
And I was like his "gaurdian angel"

But the only emotion left is bittersweet

I was called their angels
And now I see the one I chose
He stands before me beautiful
Hope and purity pouring forth
He is the answer to my prayers

Whispered soft and silent in bittersweet.

Life spins its cycles
Around me in shades of sometimes red
I see the glory and the good
And the divinity of God
And the pain, struggles, and perspiration
The results which shine forth

Spring alive from the black in tones of bittersweet.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this poem upon my reflection of the bittersweet cycles and phases of life. It all seemed to fall behind me in a clouded sort of way, but out of the hurt came a sense of sweetness, because I know that life and God is bringing about my pain for a reason.
