My father will always love me
No matter what I do
He used to mend my broken toys
And make them look like new
He held my hand when I was small
And bounced me on his knee
He'd tuck me in the bed each night
Then kneel and pray with me
My father is a godly man
I had a Christian home
Going to church on Sunday
Is the only life I've known
It's my turn now to be the dad
And pass on what I've been shown
I pray I'll be as good as dad
The best teacher, I have known
