STAY!

by Xee - Cancer

Crashing, loud, earsplitting thunder, jagged flashes seared the night.
East and West were torn asunder, will the morning ever light?
Begging me to walk away, you held my hand so tight,
Mouth parched and dry I could not cry, and prayed with all my might.
Your shadowed tears I could see my Dear, silent sighs ripped through the night.
My tortured soul was dark with fear, and bitter tears shone bright.
It never should have been this way, my very own heart's delight
Your haste please stay and tarry a while, let Dawn set all things right.
Let morning's dew come wash away the fears that haunt and blight
Let playful zephyrs clear the way, let Dawn raise Hope in sight.
