AARON'S LAMENT

by Shane D. Moore - Sagittarius

Aaron is my name,
I'm tormented by cruel words,
Not by words of swearing,
But of mockery,
Constantly tearing,
My heart in many pieces,
I find no releases,
For my tears to fall,
I'm surrounded by all,
Amused and laughing at my plight,
I do not wish to fight,
Against my aggressors,
If only I could make a friend,
The heart of many have no bounds,
For a cripple in a new town,
I abide by myself,
Within my shell,
Unwilling to face the mocking hell,
Wishing to shed these metal braces,
Walk steady,upright to friendly faces,
One thing I wish to understand,
Why would someone mock a crippled man?,
My heart is breaking,
My spirit aching,
Yearning to reach the very end,
Make a true, lasting compassionate friend.

Reason for writing:

WE NEED TO EXTEND TRUE FRIENDSHIP TO THOSE WHO
HAVE NO FRIENDS. WE ALL KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS THE OBJECT
OF RIDICULE. WE NEED TO SEE THE INSIDE OF THE PERSON
NOT THE OUTSIDE THAT THIS WORLD SO READILY EVALUATES.
