The Rift

by David Clary - Capricorn

A rift betwixt myself and I
	has cause me distress of late.
Without myself am I more isolated
	than without others have I ever been.

And blind, deaf, numb to the tapestry of my past;
	the rich elusive pungence of sorrow,
	the pulsating thrum of joy.

Myself, I fear, is free at last;
	and I am langouring in desolation,
	savouring my return.

Reason for writing:

    Do you ever have one of those days when nothing matters? When it seems like the person you were is nowhere to be found, and the person you are is not someone you recognize? Ever wake up, and realize something... important... was missing?

I have.
