I've tasted most of what this world, has in life to give
And now I know this is not the life, meant for me to live
I've walked the fence so carefully, being good and bad
And couldn't see the reason for the emptiness I've had
Pretending to be someone, other people would never see
I thought I fooled all of them, but only fooled me
And in my heart I knew that something was very wrong
Cause I knew the words to the music, yet there never was a song
The Lord came to me the other day and knocked me off my fence
He made me see my foolishness and my lack of sense
Leave this path and follow Me, was the message in my heart
My eyes were opened by His love and I was given a new start
No longer will I walk the fence and play the devil's fool
Lord, touch me with Your spirit and fill me with renewal
I pray these words You give me, will to someone make some sense
Lord, use me to pick the next soul up, that You knock off the fence

Reason for writing:
This life has many things to offer but none of them are the answer. I have tried most of them, only to be left empty.
I have found one thing that has filled this empty void and best of all it's free. Get to know Jesus, it will change your life. It is the only thing in life that is truely free.
