"The Carnival"

by Shane D. Moore - Sagittarius

The carnival has arrived in town,
Clowns with painted faces run amid,
Children laughing very hard.
The moment is captured,
As the elderly,
As well as the young,
Walk hand in hand.
The elderly walk slowly but sure,
That love is eternal.
A smooth face smiling,
A wrinkled face smiling,
Proves to be the same,
In the time they are made in.
Whether long ago or recently,
I learn that love cannot be contained,
In this age or the next,
It spews forth amid candied apples,
And cotton candy,
Covering everyone,
Of every age,
In it’s path.
Cupid’s arrows are flying tonight,
As eyes sparkle and glisten,
With no thought of age,
Just that of love.
The carnival has arrived in town...
