Beyond Somatic

by drew - Taurus

Jagged edges cut my arm
I do not know what caused the harm
I do not know nor do I care
The wall is the best place to stare
While lying cozy in my bed
The wall holds visions in my head
Of past times caught up in the flow
Mere ten per cent I really know.
It rushes past my eyes and then
Settles on her face again,
So bittersweet and yet I mostly
Rue the happy times so ghostly.
Come to haunt me in my dreams
There’s more to REM than seems
So obvious when I’m half awake
It all makes sense when life will take
Her face from me for just a second
Was it to me that she beckoned?
I do not know nor understand
It slips right through my broken hand.
Broken hand? Well time will heal
But time from me she tends to steal,
Her lips against mine wide awake
Please stay asleep if for my sake
You wish to follow on and on
To nowhere you have been, beyond
The sun that’s up, the day is dawned;
Her picture in my sleep is gone.

Reason for writing:

Just a crazy night I had dreaming about my girlfiend
