Moonlit Ways… by Steven Holeyfield Shadows darken moonlit ways And the hours seem like days All that time has forgotten Now grows old, and smells rotten Soon our paths must part my friend And through the nights until the end I’ve known you well until this hour When we were to part, I smelled a flower That one flower so sweet and pure Like my heart so weak yet sure That though it ends this darkened night Always you’ll be within my sight I need only look inside The love I hold cannot hide For soon your image it will fade And I will walk the moonlit ways (for Susan, whom I loved dearly)
Reason for writing:
