The Girl who Sits Alone

by Victorine - Gemini

Saturday night eleven o'clock and I sit at home,
except for an empty Corona I sit alone,
bored out of my mind I turn on the TV,
change the channel nothings on so I settle on QVC.

I'm just a girl alone
with a non existant social life
dying to be someone's darling, beloved wife
put your arms around me
never let me go
you would be the first love
that I would ever know.

Sunday morning 9 a.m. and I sit with a cup of coffee,
everyone around me is cheerful, spry, and happy,
as they are all talking
I can't help but feel them galking
at little old me
without company.

But I'm just a girl alone
with a nonexistant social life,
yearning to be someone's darling, cherished, wife
put your arms around me,
never let me go,
you would be the first love,
I would ever know.
