Knelt here at love's altar
I lost my way and faltered
Have mercy on this martyr
I must implore.

Though I fought the good fight
To hold back memories tonight
Yours haunts me yet despite
My heart's sealed door.

Kissed by your fingertips
I taste you still upon my lips
Left with dreams laid in the crypt
Only you can restore.

Now I pray I never knew you
Sacrificed at love's shrine to you
Oh how deeply I shall rue you
Forevermore.
