No more lies, my jaded heart cries The past alive, its dusty road lies The road that gets me nowhere They won't listen and no one cares I've been down this road a million times Searching for redemption and solace in crime Echoes that float through the light of dawn What hurts to remember is never too far gone New hearts love, new hands heal My heart again unsheltered, left open to steal In unbroken faith lies my only danger I'd give anything to look through the eyes of a stranger For something unknown, a welcome break from my world Desperate for any escape from the past I've come to know Your eyes shine like lights from the shore Guiding me home from amid the crashing waves' deafening roar Under my wave it's not safe anymore My soul, once lost and alone Has found solace with yours My flame began to flicker yet still it dimly shone Your hand in mine, your warmth reassures The smile you give freely Lights my way, rekindles my flame You've shown me to love without fear To trust without doubt, to cry without shame The darkness in my soul I so closely held as mine I am not afraid to reveal to you I might just be right this time I might just believe this time.
Reason for writing:
David, if you find this, I love you. You mean so much to me, you've really helped me restore my faith in love and life. No matter where you go, where we both end up, you will always have your very own place in my heart. I love you David!!!
