Guiding Wings

by Katherine - Aquarius

Look closer my angel,
who sits so delicately on my desk,
bowing its head with fragile wings that hover over his body,
putting the cherubic face in shadow.
Blinded with sadness,
the angel prays with everlasting patience and hope.
I feel warm tears falling down my cheeks.
I taste the salt as they touch my mouth.
My angel, I've not given up.
Take my hand and look into my soul.
I'm not afraid anymore.
I strain to see,
the tears I release now are of relief.
Thank you, my angel.
You've watched over me with love.
Hold me, my little angel,
you have given me courage in dark hours to reach
      for the stars.
You hold me now and I am revived.
I can live forever.
You have done well, my love,
you have guided me to the right path on this journey
      I've wandered through.
The touch of your beautiful wings has healed me,
they have wiped away my tears.
The kiss you left on my forehead has filled me with love.
No more hate, my angel.
I'm sad to see you go.
You have saved me, little one.
Please visit me, I'll probably need you
   sometime again.
When I turn out this light you may leave.
Thank you so much my love.
You have no need to be sad,
I am on my way out of the hole I dug.
Your small body hugs me once more with
   such grace and softness.
Your glowing wings enclose us both within our embrace.
Your love is a promise I hold to my heart.
Your wings, my angel,
have lifted my boundaries and set me free.
Thank you, my love.
   Thank you.
Dry your bright eyes and go.
I'll watch the sky for you.

Reason for writing:

I came to an understanding of myself.
