eyes closed tightly you lie in slumber as i peer around this strange room...
know not what you are dreaming
not these new noises
you arE resting peacefully as i wait for you to arise...
think of your first words
smile on your lips
lying still and silent i try to kiss without disturbing
occasionally your body shifts and i can feel your brEath
your lips part and you emit sounds i cannot sleep with or without
while you lie thErE drEaming and resting i wait for you to open your eyes and lips... i am watching your movements and studying your sleEp...
i rest peacefully as i study you...
the best sleep i never slept
