Sorrowful Tidings

by Beleriand Astarael - Gemini

Sickness striked at her soul
No ailments were at her control
Slowly and surely she started to slide
I took her in my arms, at my side
Wishing there was something that I could do
A looming disease was beginning to brew
I felt myself tremble with despair
I wish it was my strength I could share
The nights got colder and silent
I wish my emotions weren't so defiant
One dreadful night I held her tightly
I never knew death could be so frightly
I kissed her gingerly as she closed her eyes
I looked at her sadly and let out a sigh
Watery tears covered my face
I would dearly miss her undying grace
In knowing I had no hope
I laid by her side...
I slowly pulled out a bottle of wine
And with her ghost, I would dine
Crying unbearably, I closed my eyes too
And said goodbye to the world I once knew
We're both gone now, these are the sorrowful tidings...
I bring you

Reason for writing:

Listened to a song that had a very depressing theme to it and it made me think about the death of someone I dearly loved.
