In heaven two spirits once did reside; As spirits can do, they did decide... When to this earth they were sent from above, They'd meet as friends and not fall in love. One was called Dixie, the other was Mark. When Mark's time arrived, he did embark On his earthly journey beyond the veil; The vowed to each other, "Good will prevail!" Mark promised Dear God that he would succeed In being the spirit that the world would need... That he'd use his talents--each and every one, To lead and build Heavenly Father's Kingdom.. But Satan was there and did a vile deed! He led Mark to sin and to be deceived!! Heavenly Father thought, "Oh No! Oh No! Mark's one of my choice; It just can't be so..." "Mark's one of my best," Heavenly Father did sob.. "I'll have to call Dixie to accomplish this job! If Dixie can just get Mark to repent, He can do the work for which he was sent." So as each explored on the internet... Mark and Dixie auspiciouly met! While they talked and wrote almost nightly, It was as if the veil parted slightly. It seemed from the start--each knew the other; Had they been friends, or sister and brother? Mark even called himslef Dejevu... Could now they deny what each once knew? So Dixie did plead and to Mark often told, "Heavenly Father wants you back in the fold." She reminded Mark of his promise to Him; She begged Mark to foresake and repent of his sin... But Mark had grown proud; he loved his success. And he felt he could never meet God's tests; But Father had placed a thorn in his side; Like Paul, of old, to humble this pride. So Mark told his secrets to this Dixie girl... She cared for him greatly and entered his world. Mark's faith did increase; his spirit did grow; God even allowed him a miracle to sow! Father and Christ, they pounded his door... Out upon him their spirit, they poured. The pleaded, "Mark, Mark, please don't resist!! Come back to us now and don't miss the bliss... Of being one of your Father's beloved... Of joining us all in heaven above." And now Brother Mark, you must decide, If you'll change your ways or cling to your pride... Will you join us now in this noble throng, Or choose to stay where you don't belong? But Mark you have your free agency... The choice is now YOURS for eternity!!" **your friend in eternity--dixie**
Reason for writing:
Mark is an errant sinner in a particular religeous group of which i am also a member...a chance meeting on the internet followed by a long email correspondence (over a 6 months) and this poem are an attempt to get him to return to the God and teachings of his youth....
