Amaka (Feb. 1999)

by chiquita3946 - Libra

even as your delicate body
drapes itself weakly in vast swathes of fabric,
and you stand with your eyes staring in disgust at your
fragile limbs;

even as the blood ceases to course through your
shapely fingers
and you stare in contempt at the
options before you;

even as your face seems
drained of emotion
and your eyes have resigned themselves to this
exhausted surrender;

even as your cheek has ceased to cuve in happiness
and the flesh is pulled tight against the bone

and as your body
withers away to the core,
and you seek to combat the
hatred controlling your mind,

You radiate a warmth i cannot describe;
A Love i cannot imagine
you envelop me in the words i need most
and i seek to freeze this hour
with your heart illuminating mine

before you disappear from my view,
slip from my grasp,
to join the angels who taught you
Love like This.

Reason for writing:

    my sweetheart, i am so admiring of who you are, what you have overcome, and how you managed to see me through everything that was trivial in comparison. admiring, and also eternally indebted to you.
