Your refusal to speak Forces my mind into tunnels Where the traffic mobs in a sole direction Producing conflict between The clashing ideas drawn. Your addiction to the poetic word Without explanation Forces my thoughts to riot against my heart Proving opposing possibilities Simultaneously true—to my innocent bereavement. You delight in the contradiction As which you exist Tantalisingly dropping casual words Only to later whisk them away, Carving the soul from my corporeal being And kicking my carcass Into the fatal web you have unwittingly created— In which I will dwell Until my love for the memory I have created Fades in the brightness of the bitter truth Of the extinction of your affection.
