Mistakes She is a girl with nowhere to go She got in trouble awhile ago She went out with a guy she thought was okay But he packed his bags and left the next day She was left there battered, beaten and all alone She had no place to call her own A child was born to her nine months after That filled her life with joy and laughter A little daughter was her pride and joy She had nothing to give her, not even a toy Their life was hard but they got through Now this poem is a message to pass onto you Take this advice and do what’s right Because if you don’t, you’ll have trouble in sight Tall, dark, and handsome may just be a mask That covers the inside of a deep, dark past -Mindy Amirault-
