This heart is broken…. Once my heart was childlike in its awe of you… Total in its surrender, utterly naked and bared too… It was without its walls, unsheltered when we met… Ripe for your passion, equal and true love it craved to get… Once my heart was yours and so were my dreams… Thought this is it, this is “the one”, my heart screams… We showed such promise, no longer just me but I was part of we… Hoped in earnest and trusted like a creature to its god , this was me… Once my heart was yours, once it leapt the heights and soared… It is now in its dark doom of despair, aimless, no accord Split in half, no longer whole… Ripped from its core, bleeding its soul…. This heart is broken…. It is in pain, it is mourning and in a deathlike state Unable to move from the depths of its anguish, it is desolate… It is dying… This heart is broken… Broken by you…
