Looking back, I don't know why I ever let you make me cry You had this weird power over me But somehow I set myself free Now I soar above the sky and Earth While a new dawn is at its birth And I find it's easy to smile When I sit and look back for a while I was your puppet on a silver string Laughing naively during the spring You had me wrapped around your middle finger Flipping me off, you thought I would linger I journeyed to Hell and back for you That was a stupid thing to do Here's an idea that's kind of swell Next time you can go to Hell You are gone and I am glad You can no longer make me sad Looking back I still can't see Why I let you rule over me.
Reason for writing:
I wrote this after remembering a past boyfriend, and found myself laughing at, well...myself. I let him fool me, but no more! **When it says, "Now I soar above the sky and Earth..., I don't mean that I am dead, just free of his chains.**Birth sign: Aquarius
