The weight of the world on her shoulders
And thoughts of things she'd done
She knew they were wrong and helplessly
Confided in no one but herself
For shame she brought to herself and pain to others
Things she did, things she said will forever remain in her mind
Every now and then she thinks of them and wishes she could change them, but knows she can't

So carrying her burden she continues on with life as hard as it gets
She will never forget what she's done or what has been done to her
And once and a while it will surface to haunt her
She will never forget her past
