The rain tore down like blood-soaked sweat And singed the cold cement, Set fire upon the tangled soul With less than pure intent. And seen through tears on ridge above, The note clutched in his hand, On broken knees, he claws the dirt Through cries he must withstand. Alone he digs, unearthing time Or yet, perhaps, to hide Mem'ries not encountered yet But challenge still his pride. So molten mud he pries away; His grip he does relent. The searing rain sets fire upon The note he had been sent; Harsh words he had not finished yet - His eyes no more to cry, She tossed him in his own dug grave And left him there to die. 3/3/99 www.angelfire.com/ma/inspiredwritings/main.htmlBirth sign: Leo
