I slipped into your room,
late last night...
I hovered over you,
in soft moonlight...
I touched your face,
stroked your hair...
Whispering words of love,
blowing kisses in the air...
I laced your dreams,
with golden string...
Opened your heart,
to hear it sing...
I laid upon you a velvet sheet ~
filling your desires till complete...
I chased shadows
&
made it calm...
Giving you peace,
for the coming of dawn...
I lit candles & hung a halo over your head ~
Sorry sweet angel ~ no words were said...
For I was only there
to watch your sleepy spell...
Tossing coins,
in your wishing well...
So from now on,
when you feel a chill...
lay perfectly silent
&
totally still...
For I will always leave a gift for you ~
among the mist of morning dew.
