Good memories of school

by Percy Albertross - Taurus

"Good memories of school?"

Why does everyone I know have good memories of school?
When I remember the names that made me the fool.
The insults the ridicule, the pain I was dealt,
Was hurtful, upsetting and always heartfelt.
I never really had what you’d call a best friend,
Who always stood by you right till the end.
Just friends who I knew, who always changed sides,
When the going got tough and I was in for a ride.

The hardest thing about taking the jibes,
Were the ones from the teachers who I always despised.
Toman and Jones were the worst ones by far,
I wanted to run over them with somebody’s car.
Being the butt of a joke can really be fun
If you can laugh at yourself the battles half won.
But when your fourteen and still all mixed up,
The last thing you need is to be mentally beat up.
