The Sound of Tonight

by Sara - Gemini

Tap, tap, tap
The beat of this music.
The rhythm of tonight.
Red stains dripping from the ceiling.
Disinterested glances.
Lifeless eyes and souless faces.
The stars shine in through these windows.
The room is thick to me.
It is filled with ritualistic human behavior.
I am seeing so much.
I am learning so much.
Cloudy and full,
My mind is saturated.
The thoughts of this music...
The thoughts of tonight...
The thoughts of you...
I am hearing so much.
I am learning so much.
Whispers across the room.
The girl laughs for no reason.
People continue to go on...
Reading, writing, watching.
Again the thoughts turn to you.
You and your unappreciative ways.
The things you have and poorly treat.
The things you miss by looking away.
If only this music would stop.
If only the stars stopped shining in.
If only you would turn around.
Why am I forced to think of you?
I am feeling so much.
I am learning too much.
