To My Dad

by Rebecca Escott - Cancer

You have taught me life, living, and most of all
the women I have become to be.

You may not have givin me life,
but that is not important to me,
but what you have givin me is so much more important.

You gave me a personality,
freedom and the facts on life.

You told me about teenage boys,
how scary life could be,
and how some of my freinds could treat me.

I didnt always listen like most other teenagers,
but I have always considered your
thoughts,advice and feelings.

You watched me head out to school
for the first time and start to
challenge the world ahead.

As scary as that must of been for you
you had know choice but to sit back
and watch as your little girl start to grow
and conquer all the things ahead.

Reason for writing:

The reason behide my poem was for my stepdaddy who came into my life at the age of five years old and has tought me so much.I have respected him for staying with my mother thru the hardest times and he deserved all the credit known to man. My stepdad was my inspiration, which I call him Dad.
