I asked you to give me hands
To write what I feel for you
You gave me words 
So that I may say what is true

I asked you to give me a heart
So that I may know the love you gave me
You gave me these feelings 
That I can clearly see

I asked you to give me a mind
That I may think about love
You gave me comfort
That someday you I might have

I asked you to give me a soul
To live the life you allowed me to share
But you gave me a life of my own
To show much you really care

But alas they where all left behind
They are now left in the past
Now I could only wish
That one day again you I could have
