Rememberance

by Renee` Burns - Pisces

Never agian,
will i ever see,
what i saw then.
Invasions,
     Deaths,
      Screaming,
That's all you heard,
that's all you saw,
nothing you did could help,
everyone for themselves,
dust and dirt in the eyes,
of everyone there.
The killing,
    For what?
        Nothing.
Why should anyone,
have to kill another man,
just to prove worthiness,
to say that you are better,
to practically commit,
suicide,
acting like fools,
for some land.

Watching my friends,
my companions,
die in front of me,
is wrong.

Being captured,
      tortured,
And slowly mutilated,
by the adversary,
just for my country,
to show my bravery,
my country's strength,
I was killed defending,
my country,
the honor,
that lives within me,
 is permanent.

I shall never see,
my family,
my friends at home,
my future children.

I shall never see,
my wife,
my child,
nor myself agian.

But I will be able to carry,
my honor,
my dignity,
my bravery,
and my thoughts,
 of the war.

My only regret is,
the killing,
of my fellow men,
which went down with their country.

I would like to meet them,
become their friends,
and apologize,
for what i did to their life,
but it's too late,
and i did what i was told,
I defended my country,
and brought honor,
upon my family.
