Entering the New Millinnieum

by Alexis - Cancer

They say as we step into
the new millinnieum
the lights are gonna go out
and everything as we know it
won't exist anymore
But, who or what has the
power and right to say that?
Why were they so cheap to
not install everything
for 2000?
If we blame anyone
it should be them
But, some also say
the world's going to end
now, who has the power to say that?
Only ONE person knows
and that one is the
Almighty God up above!
People have no right
to make movies or commercials
or go on TV and say
y2K the world's going to end
and it's gonna be a dark day
come January 1,2000
How can anyone stand
to hear such nonsense?
Yeah, what if the lights do go out?
We blame the people who didn't do
a better job
And what if the world as we
know it does come to an end?
We blame ourselves!
We are still here when we're
supposed to be in Heaven with God
If we lived and obeyed by Him
we would be living in peace and harmony
for all Eternity with God and His Angels
instead of on Earth that will be
just like Hell
So, stop and think
Do you believe in
y2K and the world ending?
Well, I'm not to sure about y2K
but I know someday the world will end
as we know it!
Where will you be?

Reason for writing:

I can't exactly explain where I get all my ideas for my poems from since I write so many on different subjects. I am hoping to publish my own book soon. But I would like to thank my parents, Richard & Jeanette, my closet friends, Alismari,Jennifer, Kelly, And Shannon, and of course my dear and loving boyfriend, Josh. And the best teacher I ever had, Mrs. Elizabeth DiGiacomo! And of course the most important person of all, without Him I could not do it, God! Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart!
