"Winter"

by Terraal - Taurus

Winter

Feather soft it falls to the ground.
White like bits of exploded cloud.
What was there, now can't be found.
Buried and blanketed by the forming mound.

All can see this clever cover.
Sucking at the marrow and the color.
Turning the world bleak and gray, like a forgotten lover.
Everything has vanished, save for one lonely flower.

A snow covered field masks what is felt.
Crimes of humanity seen after the melt.
Tainted dirt and polluted grass,
All become apparent as the cold months pass.

Life moves at this seasonal pace.
During this time we try forget, try to erase.
Soon everything will begin to fade.
Into winter's gentle masquerade.
