Soft as moonlight…. I hear the grandfather clock’s chime resounding through the halls… And deep in the corners of my throbbing heart… I wait in anticipation… The shadows have come to cast their gloom… In the night they conquer every inch of space of every room… I wait in excitement….. My love comes in the still of night…. Quietly, he strides and brings me light…. Soft as moonlight… He comes to me in my sleep… He comes to me in my slumber…. He comes to me in fantasy… Sure footed steps but stealth in movement… Gait of lithe and limber grace, walks my knight… I quiver with unsustainable fervor… Now, as the moment comes closer… Every tick tock of a minute seemingly interminable… Each breath caught and suspended in childlike optimism… My love comes in the still of night…. Quietly, he strides and brings me light…. Soft as moonlight… He comes to me in my sleep… He comes to me in my slumber…. He comes to me in fantasy… The sun takes over dark, conquers the night… Chasing the shadows scurrying past, scattering rays of light… Morning is born and brings forth a new day… Alas, I stir from slumber so deep… And leave precious dreams for the night to keep… And sigh….
