Sleeping Beauty

by Chris Vine - Gemini

SLEEPING BEAUTY

The sweet smell of sleep
Drifts off with the rhythn of your breath
Eyes gently closed
Such a peaceful figure
A contented smile
Says everythings right in the world

Your hair tickles your nose
Slightly stirring
A hand gently brushes the wisp away
The slightest effort
To repair the perfect comfort

These are the times
I'm happy the worlds alive
Gently I sit
Slowly the matress gives
I stroke your hair away
Revealing your angel face
One eye flickers
A small recognition
That my presence is felt

I know in the morning
You'll say I should wake you
But my heart spills over
And I can't disturb
Such a perfect picture

I see how softly
I can kiss your forehead
I curl myself around you
Gently I hold you
And tell you I love you

Your sleepy smile spreads
Too tired to react
But I know
That you know
I meant what I said
