Great Women Who Died in 1997

by K. Antonucci - Aries

The most loved woman in El Cajon died today.
It started on July 2nd to be exact.
My grandma passed away quietly in the cool morning.
She suffered for years in a hospital bed.
A disease ravaged her mind and soul.
She was a vibrant woman ahead of her time.
Wearing pants instead of skirts and speaking her mind.
She was my mother, my friend, and my inspiration.

The most loved woman in England died today.
Diana Spencer believed in forever love.
Her marriage was a farce created for holy heirs.
She was beloved by her people and feared by her peers.
The Princess lived no fairy tale, but held her head high.
She touched the lives of people who had little time.
How ironic that her life was also coming to an end.
She was our courage, our fantasy, and our Princess.

The most loved woman in the world died today.
The Catholic Church survived through all its frailties.
Mother Teresa touched all with a kind heart and a heavenly smile.
She struggled against the Devil’s advances.
She saw the Savior’s face in all her religious patients.
She was his hope, his prayer, and his future.

Reason for writing:

My grandmother, who raised me, died in 1997. I just thought about a saying that things happen in threes and in this year it did unfortunately.
