I Don't, But I Do

by Kreisa Damos - Sagittarius

I don't love you
Because I don't know what love is
I can't love you
Because I can't risk my heart
I won't love you
Because I won't be with you forever
I shouldn't love you
Because I shouldn't give you my life
I couldn't love you
Because I couldn't be loved by you
I wouldn't love you
Because I wouldn't know how to
I do love you
Because I'd do anything for you

Reason for writing:

Highschool is hard. You think you "love" a guy but you're not old enough to know what love is. I'm in highschool and I wrote this poem to express the way I feel about guys that I like. It's an adolescence's definition of love. We say that we love eachother but nobody really knows what love is. This is how I feel. I've seen so many of my friends get hurt by the opposite sex (guys). So I have a hard time admitting that I love a guy because I don't want my feelings to get hurt. That is where this poem comes from.
