Walking

I start walking
but I can’t feel the earth
underneath my feet
I’m trying to get closer 
to you
Because it’s you I need

If I had wings
I would fly 
like a dove 
to be with you
Because it’s you I love

If I could swim
I would swim the see
and the ocean too
If that brings me 
any closer to you

I only have my feet 
to bring me to you
So I keep on walking
if that’s what I have to do
I don’t feel the earth
I’m walking on air
my feet don’t hurt
I know you’ll be there
waiting for me
