Lapses of Recollection

by MDM Matthew - Libra

Do you remember me?
A forgotten shadow of your past
A dying light upon your world
Do you remember me?

I used to talk to you,
Unrestricted, unrestrained
You were my friend, I was yours,
Nothing more

Do you hear me?
I was that little voice that helped you
tackle each problem and come out victorious
Do you hear me?

And as time goes by
You continue to forget me,
Another memory in you dark chamber called the past,
that is all.

Do you see me?
I guess not, I am but an insignificant being,
Searching for a friend long gone
But I still watch you with the same guidance
Do you see me?

And as you talk and make merry
in your new found world
I just watch you with the same guidance only restrained,
Just like before

Do you see me now?
Do you hear me?
Do you remember?
Or am I totally lost in the whirling void of the past,
Never to be remembered, except in lapses of recollection?

Reason for writing:

Sometimes in our lives, we create very close relationships. Yet, as God allows, we end up losing that friend.
It even comes to a point where the other person doesn't even acknowledge the memories you had together.
