I wish I could have had, A second chance in which to live, You see when I was born I had a disease. People in school talk about me, And I know they're afraid, They don't understand, And they really don't want to. I'm in high school now, And I've never had a boyfriend, The guys are like everybody else, Afraid. Afraid of me, Of what I have, I didn't ask for it, And yet I still got it. I wish I were popular, I wish I had friends I wish people understood, But most of all I wish to live.
Reason for writing:
The disease I was talking about was AIDS. I have had to live with this disease all my life, and people still don't understand. I wrote this so people would know that there is nothing to be afraid of.
