Looking glass

by MDM Matthew - Libra

Lies,
all of which
shift in the shadows
of a heart that was...

Truth,
is it not pain
to bear such
heavy wisdom?

Yet,
we all smile...
Playing each other for fools
in the great stage of life...

Well, we all do know this, yet do not accept.
A life of lies,
those with truth are branded as such.
Those of not are those of truth.

Such a sorry sight.

Those who claim to protect
come and destroy...
blaming it on those of no
reason of exploit.

Pathetic.

Is this
the life
we now move in?
A sorry paradox of twistedness?

I
pity the child
who
is forced to lie.

He loses his soul
so early.
Corruption has made manifest
in the days of his youth.

And may God have mercy on us all...

Reason for writing:

Our world now is masked by lies, deceit and backstabbing. I wrote Looking glass because I wanted to voice out what I felt about our society. Those in power put up a facade of righteousness, yet use their position to their own gains. A society and culuture that gives the mentality
that what is wrong is right and what is right is taboo. Such a sorry, pathetic age we live in. The youth is, unknowingly, being bred to harbor these traits. Some call it survival. Ha! What an excuse. What really is happening is death. Death to those which are right, morally upright and correct.
Although, not all have fallen to this. I do not write to condemn. I merely write to let out my emotions in the height of it.
