Succumbed Soul

by Chris C - Taurus

Lost amid the unknown
Foraging for a home
Shattered ideals I embrace
Empty eyes harbor my face
Inert orbs witness my life unfold
Blind from the happiness that you hold
Your gleaming grins tear at me
For you are an entity I’ll never be
I am solely a forlorn life
My psyche seethes of strife
Agitated, inside they abide
Questions seek… answers hide
Why do I awaken to this each day
This existence of dismal dismay
Nothing - that’s what I will come to be
Null is my fate, for I am me
One day I shall not rise of whet
Thus may my thoughts exude their debt
Only then could I slumber in one piece
A body fallen amongst ruins of mental lease
Indeed - to flee from this insensible pain
That undoubtedly would be just bane
Nay? What will then serve my bail
Shall I always be my own hell?

Reason for writing:

    it should be obvious....
