Swept Away

by Daniel Mac Neil - Leo

The night is dark, the air is cool.
Death is closing in, surrounding us.
The friends we know, the people we've seen,
It is takin a part from us all.

The room grows dark, chilled air sweeps through,
My body is sore, and my soul is tired.
Death is always with us, It's like your shadow; taging along
It's the creature that u search for amongst the shadows of night.

The room is freezing and my mind is a maze,
My body is numb, my eyes are pulsing.
I hear all noises, but feel nothing.
Laying still i start to tumble, going faster and faster.

I am falling for what seems to be eternity,
But in actuality is only seconds.
I can not see anything, for darkness has surrounded me.
There are noises from every direction, people talking, yelling

My journey has come to a demanding halt.
I can feel the wormth from the sun on my face,
Cool grass sweeps me off of the ground.
I stare motionless, into a baby blue sky that stretches until the end of time.

Reason for writing:

We all have our own toughts
and desires on death and what may happen.
This is mine.
