Child Of The World (responses?)

by Erica Hughes - Libra

I am a child of the world,
ridiculed and abused,
I am a child of the world,
unloved and used.

I am a child forbidden the luxories of life,
I am a child of the world,
bruised and cut with a knife,
I am a child, lonely and depressed,
I am a child of the world,
feelings unheard and unexpressed.

I am a child,
whose life is unsheltered and cold,
I am an unseen little girl,
whose heart has grown old.
I am an unseen little girl,
whose life has been hidden by the shadows
of the world.

Reason for writing:

I wrote this when I was a kid, when I thought the whole world was picking on me. ah sweet adolescence.
