Striped Tomato

by Sonja H. van Schalm - Cancer

A striped tomato
That’s what he’s called
But he's just a car
It wasn’t his fault

Gran Torino
That’s his real name
He went through a lot
But has deserved his fame

It’s never easy
being a slave
driving around
officers Ken and Dave
The Torino knew what he had to do
Not only driving around
but protecting them too
He caught several bullets
and has spent many times at Merle’s garage
But he was glad to be Dave Starsky’s Torino
‘A red car with a white stripe’
and Ken Hutchinson's 'Striped Tomato'.

Reason for writing:

As a huge Starsky and Hutch fan, I just had to write this poem about the red car with the white stripe.
