To Inebriate

by Anthony Daniel Stover. - Leo

A lonely Bar…
Strange Vague faces,
These broken hearts abandoned here
With those of other lonely places.
All worlds spin..
To those drowning in a bottle.
As the same-said spinning worlds collide
To those numb it seems so subtle.
Yes, even drowning in their cup..
Mournful faces pressed against the glass.
Yet thinking only of this liquid..
They’ll try and forget their past.
Loudly singing.. chanting to themselves,
They try and hobble home…
Sleeping ‘til the headache comes..
They’ve reaped the wicked oats they’ve sown.
But as dusk falls once more..
They scrounge up all their change,
To flee their infinite broken heart..
As they pay to numb their brain.

Reason for writing:

It Bothers me to see those who have all but wasted their life sitting in a Bar at 2:00a.m. trying to forget the problems they are sure to remember later. All they need is someone to show them an ounce of love... to show for a Pound of change.
