Free me, for I am in chains. I have caused you many tears and countless years of pain. The steel, it cuts so ever deeply into my hands, but still the blood that flows freely cannot make up for your demands… Restlessness? Or is it just pain? I am standing here amidst the rumbling remains. I have hoped to show my great love for you, But still I try, with tears afresh glistening like the morning dew. The trees, they speak for me. Of pain and hatred supposedly given me. A realization? Or a distant dream? Whatever you are my life you did redeem. My tears? They mean nothing! Of the pain you went through, people still go unbelieving that your love for me was ever so great. You laid your life down for a world full of hate. A paradox? Or so it seems, But still you laid your life, so I can be redeemed…
Reason for writing:
There are times in our lives that we go through it's pains, sorrows and hardships. We also do things that are considerably foolish and stupid. I wrote this poem after experiencing a most tremendous shortcoming.
I cried out to God in forgiveness. Yet, we have those times when we even doubt our own creator. It is because we lack knowledge and understanding. But tell me, who among us mortals can understand God? Who among the creations would match
at least even the understanding of their creator? So out of our ignorance, we raise our own gods... then cock our heads, roll our eyeballs and doubt when what is manifest omes to light.
