Cooped inside my paranoia I walk down the alder filled pathway At Night, Fearing what wasn't there I'd heard the stories And been given the warnings And still I venture out Just to go get some cigarettes and a chocolate bar And maybe a magazine Hands in my pockets, I mimic my heartbeat With my footsteps Rhythmically strolling with the beat As the clouds covered the moon I saw him The desolate night had become too crowded Clenching my wallet, the only two noises before Had now gone in opposite speeds and as I slowed down My heart sped up Like two lone cars on a highway, we passed Without an acknowledgement and I felt Vindicated at my safety yet sorry for the Unfounded suspicions Finding not the words I continue on As the clouds continue on their Never-ending journey and expose the orb of truth, I see another man My heart speeds up.
Reason for writing:
Have you ever been in a new city and been walking down a
secluded path at night? If so then you know exactly why I've
written this.
