the wounds aren’t healing scars cease to fade but you say you want me to complicate you further dress you up in bandages of emotion cottony gauze constricting tightly bound and with every step along the way hope you unravel force you to face reality coerce you carelessly to the ground toss your leaden heart into the hospital bed let them operate you know you can live without the poison in your blood the needle in your vein bandages on your beautiful face the lover in your dreams you aren’t heartsick like they say you are not heartbroken as if we all agreed heartache is the indefinite outcome of cautionless love paper gowns and metal bedpans and anesthesia to numb your pain only the pain of love was never endorsed by these and relief ceases to exist it whimpers quietly in the night and you fail not to suffer…..
Reason for writing:
I was merely thinking of how there is absolutely no way to ease the emotional pain of heartbreak.
