A LESSON FROM A PALM TREE

by Cletus Hardiman - Sagittarius

I watched a palm tree
from the time it was small.
I watched it grow
'til it was very tall.
I saw it hit
with the storms and the wind.
I saw it twist and turn and bend.

But, when the wind was gone
The palm stood straight.
It stood tall and proud
and supported its weight.
The wind that had bent it
and treated it so rough,
was the dominant force
that made it so tough!

So, we as the palm tree
when running a rough mile,
should be able to take it
and secretly smile.
For through the blowing
of this world's winds,
We're made stronger each day,
and less apt to bend!

Reason for writing:

I've had my ups and down in life.....everyone does....without exception......But, through my adversities, I have emerged a better person, every time....Just thought I would compare life to a palm tree......E-mail me your comments.....I want to hear from you on all my articles....If I do not, I will stop putting them on, because I will think, no one appreciates it......Clete
