The night will be long and cold, the air a chilling caress. His head is on my lap, asleep, we will stay like this more or less. Everyone is fast asleep in deep dreams, except me on the third last seat. I can feel the warmth of his hands, and the iciness of his feet. A while later he wakes and sits up, and turns so I lean against his chest. My head tucked under his chin, arms around my waist, I breathe deeply as we both rest. The bus shudders beneath us, those warm arms wrapped around me. His fingers dance lightly on my stomach, he is all I want to see. Hours pass and we have not stirred, I can feel his breath upon my hair. I smile as the dawn breaks, holding him is all I am aware.
