NO TEARS

by Erica Hughes - Libra

Here you stand out on my doorstep
in the middle of the night,
with your open arms,
staring me in the eye,
but I guess you figured it out by now,
the locks have been changed,
you can't come in baby.
I won't love you again,
you no longer have the keys to my heart.
So walk alone honey,
out there in the dark.

No more tears baby,
I'm not crying over you,
I am happy now,
I'm not feelin' sad and blue,
like I did when you left me,
standing in the rain,
no more tears honey,
because I am happy again. No more tears,
no more tears, no more tears.

Oh' baby, I'll never forget the pain that I been through,
now you expect me,
to take pity on you,
but where was all the pity,
when you left me yesterday,
begging in the rain,
when you threw me away.
Now, how does it feel,
when the shoes on the other foot,
no more tears baby,
because I am over YOU!

No more tears baby,
I'm not crying over you,
I'm happy now,
and glad that we're through,
you had your chance to love me,
but you threw it all away,
now go on with your life,
like you did yesterday,
no more tears, no more tears,
no more tears over you. . .

Reason for writing:

Dedicated to my ex-husband, who knew he had a good thing. Unfortunately for me, I didn't know that I didn't.
